Last year, the "HR Tech Conference 2024" was held in Las Vegas, USA. This conference, which shares the latest industry trends and innovative technologies, has established itself as the world's largest event attracting the attention of global HR tech companies.
The most talked-about topic at the conference was undoubtedly the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in HR. Among the 421 exhibitors participating in the expo during the event, 91 were in the AI sector, highlighting the growing importance of AI in the HR field. Since the release of the ChatGPT-3 model, there has been an explosion of interest in generative AI, and expectations continue to grow about how extensively AI can be utilized in HR tasks.

The HR Tech Conference 2024 outlined three major directions for HR in 2025.
First, AI is expected to evolve to a stage where it can handle actual HR tasks. While AI has traditionally been limited to using HR data to draft job descriptions or answer HR policy-related questions with appropriate language, it is now anticipated to advance into actively understanding user needs and executing tasks directly.
Second, AI, which has so far performed tasks passively based on user commands, will progress to independently managing tasks, coordinating schedules, and functioning as an active member of the HR team. In recruitment processes, AI may take on the role of directly communicating with candidates in real-time and managing the hiring process autonomously.
Lastly, AI is expected to enable automation in HR processes for time-intensive tasks such as payroll and time & attendance management. For example, in payroll management, AI could automate the entire process—from inputting employee information, calculating salaries, and reviewing and disbursing payments to conducting analyses based on the data.
As expectations for AI technology in HR tasks continue to rise, Choi Hyo-jin, Executive Director of the talenx division at Human Consulting Group (HCG), Korea's largest HR tech company, emphasized, "While many companies are focusing on rapidly adopting AI capabilities into HR tasks, the more important aspect is leveraging AI to address practical HR issues faced by companies and create business value."...
